Hey there! I’m so glad you stopped by A Crickets Life!
Hello I’m Cristi…I am a child of God who has given me a passion for all things creative. I am a wife to an amazing husband who supports and encourages all my crazy ideas for various projects, and a mom to some amazing grown adults that I love more than I can say!
My all-time favorite is decorating and crafting for the holidays, I love all holidays. I keep things simple and cozy. During Halloween, we decorate our front yard (I’m a scaredy cat, so nothing scary!) and at Christmas we do the same. I will be posting pictures in my blog if you’re interested.
I enjoy baking and sometimes cooking. I am not an expert cook by no means but I enjoy simple meals and cute little holiday treats…but I will say, I am an expert on eating them!
My sister and I owned a Home Décor store in Oregon called Cody’s General Store. Our family store is still going today. We learned so much about creating and decorating homes by going to showroom markets and through other business owners. Creating window displays was one of my favorite things to do. We would create beautiful scenes every couple of weeks and I never got tired of it.
Now, I am retired and love to decorate my own home. I also do home staging on the side for realtors and have an Etsy shop selling my vinyl decals for home décor signs. I started this blog so I can share with you how you can make your house a home regardless of your budget.
If you love all things creative, then you have come to the right place! Sit back, relax, and enjoy your favorite drink or snack, and let’s see what we can make together!
About the name…
A Crickets Life…sounds like a strange name, some people ask me if it was because I use a Cricut cutting machine to make my vinyl decals. No, but how creative is that?! What a great name for a decal business!
The story behind my name is truly special to me. When I was a little girl, my great-uncle stayed with us during his battle with cancer. Each day, I would sneak into his room and settle at the foot of his bed, happily coloring pictures to brighten up his space. As I busily colored away and chatted about everything and nothing (I was quite the little chatterbox!), he couldn’t see me but could hear my cheerful voice. That’s when he nicknamed me “Cricket,” and it has stayed with me ever since.
Just thought I would share that sweet story with you.
